Game of the Month (October 2025) - Ghost of Yōtei

Fall is officially here, and with it come some amazing game releases that many of us have been waiting for.  It’s a difficult month to choose just one Game of the Month prediction based on what we’ve seen and been hyped up for.  It’s a big month for RPG releases with Pokemon Legends Z-A, Tales of Xillia Remastered, a wider release of Dragon Quest I-II, and some others.  Spooky season gets new drops with Little Nightmares III and Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2.  Despite all of these possible choices, I’m going to say that my MegaDads Game of the Month pick for October 2025 is going to be Ghost of Yōtei.

Ghost of Yōtei is an action adventure game developed and published by Sucker Punch Productions, taking place 300 years after the events of the Ghost of Tsushima in the beautiful lands around Mount Yōtei. Needless to say, this game is not related to the other.  The protagonist Atsu is seeking revenge against the Yōtei Six, and this game tells her journey as she masters melee and ranged combat skills to eventually forge a better future while honoring her past.   

I’m a sucker for feudal Japan settings, and Ghost of Yōtei looks to dive in deep, just like the previous Ghost game.  The action looks gritty while staying smooth as silk, and there is much more variety in the weapons you can wield this time around. The story is likely to be rich and engaging, with plenty of side content to keep you exploring the world around you.  With plenty of customization options on top of your item and weapon choices, I can imagine there is going to be lots of different ways to approach any situation. I’m also ready for that photo mode, as the landscape details and all the ways to interact with the world around you looks breathtaking.
